He knew he had to kill them! Didn't need anyone going to run off and tell people they were alive, especially if they were already trying to kill them after dragging themselves out of the debris. Far faster than a man with a collapsed lung had any right to, but all of that shit they went through during the SEP had to be good for something. Running on adrenaline now meant he'd have to heavily rely on Jack later, this was going to take a hell of a lot out of him. Launching himself upwards as he used some stacked debris as stepping stones even as he fired directly on the spot the shooter at to be in.
Trusting that Jack would still be there when he could turn back, rather than hunting down someone in the trees to kill them.
