Even if he slept in too much he wouldn't feel the greatest either. Perhaps it was some sensing of the cold weather coming that had him wanting to sleep more.
Or perhaps the body that his torso was laying on top of and being held close against. Gabriel was slowly growing aware of how he was being held, and some of it had him tilting his head a bit to slightly peer up at Jack more from the man's shoulder than neck.
