"Oh, it's a cake that usually has vanilla and chocolate combined in it, just layered and swirled together before baking." He didn't often eat cake, but this was a special occasion and they were going to be in one place for a time, so it was safer to keep as he had less risk of crushing it on a journey. "You should try that one next. I think you'll like it if you enjoyed the chocolate." He nodded his head, thinking he'd try to drop in earlier for better selection. "Alright, I'll see what he has next time I'm in town."

He knew it was just a passing sensation and meant little as Gabriel's hands were occupied. He still finished slicing up the two apples, taking and eating a slice for himself.
