Jack moved aside so that Gabriel could emerge from the cage, and it was strange to consider his sheer bulk this close. No wonder it had taken so many teams to capture the gorgon, and no wonder the tactic was to pick on the offspring and mates to lure them out where they could be killed when considering hostages.
He noted that some of the creatures which clearly hadn't been fed well eyed them but then went back to their meals when it seemed that the gorgon was a real threat to them. Easier pickings meant they were willing to stay and eat the people here down to the bones. Good. Less evidence that he had been here at all.
