Jack pulled his blade which seemed to hum with a magical energy and glowed a faint blue as he moved in, brushing passed the gorgon. He put enough trust in the other monster to not just put a bolt into his back for taking the forward position, which he hoped was not a mistake on his part. He wouldn't live to tell if it was misplaced, and right now, he had to concentrate on the massive creature filling the mine hole.
He pulled a knife and flung it at one of the other remaining eyes, but the creature snapped it out of the air before moving to crowd him for a strike of claw and wing at the same time. He dove forward to avoid both, putting himself between its massive legs. His sword arched upwards to tear into flesh in the chest and arm pit of the creature.
It tried to hop away, ramming itself against a wall in its withdrawal, but its tail swung under and knocked him into the nearby rocks defensively. It would at least give the gorgon and clear shot.
