He turned a little on the bed to peer down at Gabe who had decided to lay about and laugh. Okay, he had to rewind that conversation a little to think about what he had said. He meant they were a team for sure but... oh.
Oh shit.
"Ah, that came out wrong," he said suddenly, waving a hand in the air and then rubbing the back of his head. Of course, now he was on the spot and that meant he had to think and fast. This wasn't like combat where he could make split decisions to push the mission forward. This was life stuff.
"I mean... what are you thinking? I want you, have since we met... but that just sounds cheesy given everything."
