They had proven that little, if any obstacle would stop them when they were in the mood, but right now was a time of peace and quiet, softness and bonding. This was a time of caring and providing for his mate, but also to check in on his friend and lover. They really did need a full meal with substance.
He eased away again, leaving Gabe in that nest of pillows, blankets and sheets. He pulled the tray of goods over. Mostly sandwiches but also fruit, veggies and dip and handful of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. He set the tray down in front of Gabe and then moved to settle in on the bed behind his lover, nestling into the blankets too and humming softly. He was sore and worn out. Even during sessions of Gabe dozing, he was on high alert for competing alphas. He had nodded off only for a handful of minutes here and there.
"Going on three days," he murmured softly, propping his head up on a hand. "Mostly training and tactical updates from the various front lines. They experimentally sent out three SEP with their old units to see how they would do, and apparently the government is impressed with the results." He thought for a moment. "End of this week, they are bringing in powerful prototype pulse rifles for us to try."
