Gabriel didn't even stir when Jack came back- not at first at least, likely speaking loudly for his own exhaustion in all of this. Felt like he was secure enough that he wasn't as light a sleeper as normal either, surrounded by that scent more helping him feel safe than keeping his heat on a high note. Was a good change at least.
The moment Jack came close and nuzzled? He did stir a bit then, leaning up against that nuzzle to return it and a lazy kiss, fingers curled up in to Jack's hair to keep his head in place. Hell, he was brushing lips against the man's jaw once the words finally registered. "give me a minute- or a hand to sit up?"
He felt sore, but in a way that was more sating that irritating, and the nest he'd made that could easily fit the both of them felt so incredibly soft and pleasantly warm. No wonder he'd managed to actually hit a deep sleep while Jack was out.
